This post is all about the beautiful island of Maui! This island is like my second home because I have been visiting Maui since I was only six months old. Maui is such a special place and there really is nothing else like it. I wouldn't have chosen anywhere else to spend my summers. Maui is a perfect vacation for anyone whether it be teenagers, adults, or families. This island has so much to offer and is the perfect relaxation spot. Maui has some awesome things to do so here are some of my all time favorite places around the island. Maui has so much to offer so I am going to discuss different parts of the island and various things you can do in each part.

1.Kihei! This area has adorable little shops and restaurants as well as beaches. Kamole Beach is perfect for having a relaxing day or bringing little kids because mostly Kamole only has small waves. The trade winds can kick in and make the water choppier so I would recommend going earlier in the day. You can also take a long walk all along the beach. I would also pop by S&Q’s shack for some coffee or shave ice! Another really cool beach that I would recommend is Big Beach. This beach can get some massive waves so make sure to be careful but the beach is absolutely stunning. It is also really fun to watch the bodyboarders ride the shore break. Make sure to be careful because the waves can be deceiving. When you first get there the water may look flat, but a huge set might be coming. However, on a flat day this is the perfect white sand beach to relax and have a nice swim. Wailea Beach is also a kid friendly beach and perfect for taking a long walk. Hotels are located all along this strip of beach so it can be more crowded than other spots. From Wailea Beach you can walk to Polo Beach which tends to have some bigger waves than Wailea Beach.

2. Lahaina! Lahaina is perfect for a night out. It has so many restaurants and shopping. Both Lahaina Fish Company and Cheeseburger In Paradise have pretty views and are located right along the waterfront. Lahaina Fish Company has more upscale dining and Cheeseburger is more of a relaxing fun hangout.

3.Kaanapalli! This area is super fun to walk around and hang out at the beach all day! This beach offers lots of water sports such as banana boating and parasailing! You can also walk along the strip and grab some yummy food for lunch or dinner. I personally really like Leilani’s because it is right on the beach and has delicious food! You can also walk around the shopping as well. While you over by Kaanapali, you can walk to the end of the beach and jump off of Black Rock! Be careful because they’re are lots of sea urchins that can sting your feet. While walking along the beach walk at night you might catch some of a luau put on from one of the hotels!

4.Kapalua! This side of the island tends to rain more but there is so much to do! One beach I love is Fleming Beach! This is a public beach located at the bottom of the Ritz Carlton. There is a shake shack down there where you can get food and drinks. Another nice beach is Napili Beach, located in Kapalua as well. This beach is perfect for snorkeling or playing in the water. This beach is almost like a wave pool because the waves normally do not crash. While you’re over there you can walk to Gazebo Restaurant which has amazing food for breakfast or brunch. Their portions are huge so plan on splitting with someone else! Another awesome snorkeling spot in this area is Honolua Bay. This beach has a lot of steps to climb down and not a ton of parking so I would recommend going earlier in the morning. This spot has amazing snorkeling. Sometimes the water is so clear that you can see fish right at your feet without even going into the water! This beach has easy access to get into the water and is kid friendly. Make sure to stop by Dragons Teeth if you want to get in an adventure! This is an awesome cliff jumping spot located near Kapalua. This spot is a little difficult to find and you have to do some walking along the lava rock to get there but trust me it is worth it! At Dragons Teeth you can choose to jump off a very high cliff, a small cliff, or just get into the water through the stair. The water here is completely clear. I would recommend going during the week because this is a very popular spot for the locals to go during the weekend. Bring a floaty and spend hours relaxing at this little tucked away cove.

5. Twin Falls and all of the various waterfalls! If you are looking for some adventure check out the Twin Falls waterfall. It is about a twenty minute walk to the big waterfall. You can go swimming in the waterfall. The hike to the top is not very difficult but sometimes the rapids can be strong after a lot of rain so try to go when the weather is dryer. This is the first stop along the road to Hana so it only takes. about thirty minutes to drive to if you are coming from Kihei. To drive all the way to Hana it takes about five hours. Once you get there, many people like to experience the black sand beach. The roads to Hana are very windy so I wouldn't recommend going if you get nauseous on long windy drives.
